 Intellectual Property Awareness and Education

Re: Invitation to the Online Intellectual property Awareness and Education Training scheduled

December 9th and 10th 2020

Greetings from Makerere University’s Directorate of Research and Graduate Training.

You are aware that the mission of Universities has – over the years – expanded from teaching and research to include technology transfer as key to societal transformation and economic development. In this regard, patent awards, licensing and commercialization of ideas emerging out of research contribute greatly to universities’ missions.

With funding from the Government of the Republic of Uganda, Makerere University Research and Innovations Fund (Mak-RIF) in collaboration with Uganda Registration Service Bureau (URSB) has organized a training on IP Awareness and Education. The two-day online training is scheduled for December 9th and 10th, 2020 with morning and afternoon sessions (Participants can choose sessions to participate in as per their availability). All beneficiaries of research and innovation projects under the Mak-RIF initiative are invited to register and attend a half-day training session of their convenience.  In particular, at-least one person from each of the awarded projects should register to attend the session. In so doing, we believe that this participant will then later share knowledge generated with the project team members. The program for the training will be sent to you upon registration for the activity. To participate in this training, please register below
