The inaugural Grants Management Committee guided the Research and Innovations Fund through its first funding rounds, from 2019 to 2022, before the current Committee was inaugurated. It was appointed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, in consultation with the Colleges.
