Virtual Lunch Time Seminar | Eco System for Telecommunication in Higher Education Institutions in Uganda

The Makerere University Council and Community is forever grateful for the funding Makerere University Research and Innovations Fund (Mak-RIF) received from the Government of the Republic of Uganda to support high impact Research and Innovations that will accelerate national development. This fund is an illustration of the increasing importance that the Government continues to attach to Research and Innovation as drivers of socio-economic transformation. The objective of this fund is to increase the local generation of translatable research and scalable innovations that address key gaps required to drive Uganda’s development agenda.

To-date, over 800 multidisciplinary research and innovation projects are being supported and funded by the Government of the Republic of Uganda through Mak-RIF. Details are shared on https://rif.mak.ac.ug/

The Mak-RIF Grants Management Committee and Secretariat have designed a Lunch Time Seminar Series to provide an engagement platform for the research projects being funded by the Government with diverse stakeholders. We hope that these sessions will offer an opportunity for us all to share more about the research and innovations products or policy recommendations emanating from the ongoing projects. It is also our hope that these sessions stimulate discussions leading to coining of collaborations, partnerships and linkages with industry including the private sector for further uptake and scaling of the research and innovation outputs.

It is in this perspective that the Mak-RIF team invites you to our first Lunch Time (1:00pm – 2:00pm EAT) Seminar on Friday October 2022. It is during this session when the team working on the project titled; Eco System for Telecommunication in Higher Education Institutions in Uganda will share their research outputs.

‘Knowledge is Power’. See details about the upcoming session on the attached flyer.
