Bringing to a close the first month in the year 2020, Makerere University’s Grants Management Committee (GMC) engaged and consulted with 50 cross-sectoral stakeholders during the morning of Friday January 31st 2020. This external stakeholder consultative meeting helped participants to share, discuss and understand the priority research and innovation areas in the different sectors. These efforts are geared towards further informing the development of a Research Agenda that will help researchers include new perspectives in research, structure the process and enable research directed towards addressing community challenges. The identified priority areas will also form the basis for the next RIF grant call for applications slated for February 2020.
