Call for Expression of Interest – Capacity Building Training at CHUSS
Background
Makerere University received funding from the Government of the Republic of Uganda, through Makerere University’s Research and Innovation Fund (Mak-RIF) to support high-impact Research and Innovations. The goal of this fund is to increase the local generation of translatable research and scalable innovations that address key gaps required to drive Uganda’s development agenda, especially the un-funded priorities. Objective three of the fund is to support the growth of research leadership capacity in the university
Capacity building is a continuous process and in a bid to further build the capacity of researchers in the various colleges of Makerere University, Mak-RIF is organizing Research Management training sessions for members of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS). The research management training sessions are aimed at enhancing the research skills of faculty, students and non-teaching staff and therefore improving the quality and quantity of research output within the University with spillover effects to other intuitions and organizations too. Focus will be on three core topics; Grant and proposal writing, Grant management and Effective communication which are fundamental in research execution. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Criteria
- Participants should be members of CHUSS.
- Participants need to express interest in two or more of the topics of focus.
- Participants should be Makerere University Lecturers, administrators, accountants, graduate students.
- Participants should be available to physically attend all the selected training sessions
This training will be conducted starting on Wed 29th to 31st Jan, 2025 between 8:00 am and 1:30 pm East African Time at CHUSS. Mak-RIF therefore invites interested members of CHUSS to express interest by submitting an application on the form below before Jan 15, 2025.
